My Music

Here are some of my songs. They are currently in production and none are final. As a matter of fact, some were done by myself from home on my dinky Mac (Across Your Sea) and others are a mix of studio work and stuff I cut at home.

I am slowly but surely getting there though! Take a listen. If you like it, let me know! If you don’t – well – what can I say? You must lack good taste. (Just kidding, I can handle it).

I like your songs, and you have a beautiful voice. I am a singer, too. I find it funny that you found me online, and that we are both singers from NJ (am I right about that? Not sure why I think you are from NJ. I must have read it somewhere. Or just fabricated it in my slightly-dysfunctional-mommy-brain. That’s always a very real possibility.). Are some of these your own songs? I am not that talented – I just sing other people’s stuff. Jazz standards mostly, lately. But I get to do it once a week at a restaurant with some really talented musicians, so I will take it ;) Maybe we will cross paths and sing something together some day. Keep singing.

      Hi Lisa,

Yeah – we are both Jersey girls. Were you born and raised there? I grew up in Old Bridge, a town in Middlesex county – I went to study at the University of Virginia and ended settling up in Northern VA/the DC area after college. I still go back to visit and I love my old haunts still. I didn’t appreciate them as much as I should have when I was going to school, but I grew up with some really great, amazing people who disprove every Jersey stereotype there is.

Thanks for listening to the songs. I wrote all of them. The only one I didn’t was the Springsteen cover of “Brilliant Disguise.” Do you have anything recorded – you guys should tape one of your performances and put it on youtube.

So glad we connected – Look forward to getting to hear your voice someday soon!

Well, born in Brooklyn, NY, but moved to Jersey by age 3. Grew up in New Providence for the most part, although we lived in Piscataway for the first few years. Also went to college in VA (JMU). Then onto grad school in IN, but came back to DC area (MD) for 8 years, and now just an hour north of Baltimore in PA. I have one live recording, but haven’t mustered the guts to post it ;) Parallels :) I’ll let you know if we post any recordings. If you are ever on a historic tour of Gettysburg on a Thursday, you should come hear us and sing with us ;)

Great promising talent. God Bless. I write songs too.

  • I’m a singer from NJ too! This must be the meeting place. ;) You have a great voice! Glad I found your blog at Yeah Write!

    Hi
I came across your blog as I follow your au pair, Heather, on twitter, she was giving me some advice about getting out to America to do it myself. I loved the story of her sleep walking, it made me laugh so much, then I thought I’d have a little nosey and came across your songs. You have a lovely voice, I especially love your song ‘yesterdays’ Keep up the good work :)

Hi Jen – thanks so much for listening! Yeah Heather is wonderful – I think she is enjoying her experience so far. Hopefully you make a decision that works for you and find the right agency/family, etc. Yesterdays is my favorite too – its the only one even remotely close to being done – and even that at 70%. Still-it has a special place on my heart.

Thank you for reading and for listening.

      xo.
